Celebrity News and Gossip

We always suspected it, but here is proof that the end of the rainbow is at Stone Mountain Golf Course!

You must call for a tee time for Saturdays!

Check out the major changes to the natural amphitheatre behind the 18th Green!   We let Donald loose with the heavy equipment (actually, the way it works is that Bruce hacks it up so bad that Donald has to fix it...).  Now it is sculpted the way the course designer always meant to be.   You won't believe how quickly the grass has grown in.   Don’t be surprised if you want to play another round!

Member-Member Results! Lois Foster and RWB Sidden won the July 18th throwdown, and braggin' rights for the year, due to Jud and Clayton missing 18 putts.
Results: (Foster/Sidden 65) (Lovette/Schmitt 66) (J. Watkins/C. Sidden 66) (Wanda/Saturday 66)
(Barker/Ward 66) (Gant/Gant 67) (Super Non-Non/Thin Man 68) (Ralph/Fat Boy 70) (Maharaja/Fox 71)
(Larry/Gary 73) (Yarboro Fan Club - Who knows?) (Donnie Gambill/Keith Pearson = Last Place!

You may have seen Ralph swing a golf club.  It's hard to imagine he could be an even worse pilot!  A picture is worth a thousand words and the look of delight on his son's face is priceless.   Click here to view the historic first flight off # 6 green.   Reminder to pilots:  Please replace divots after crashes.

Donald Francis, our super superintendent, was just elected Fireman of the Year for the second time running. Congratulations Donald!

Keith Sidden has a new driver, and has actually hit a ball straight for the first time in his life.

Sammy Johnson, accompanied by his trusty dog Frank, just aced #1! He hit it off the roof of Bruce's house, and Bruce's bird dog picked it up like the wounded quail it was, took it to the invisible fence, spit it out, and it rolled down into the cup. Congratulations Sammy!

Jones Matthews aced # 1, and brought his brother-in-law Sam Turner back the next day to show him, and Sam aced # 1! What are the chances that would happen? Sam said he couldn't let old Jonesy show him up.

Jim Lovette aced #14, and Raymond Hall drove his mower into the creek because of the shock. Raymond  survived and attested the scorecard, so everyone is happy, except David Braswell. And then, a week later, Jim aced # 1! David hasn't come out of the hospital yet.

Check out the chalet on # 18. Bee yootiful!

All the members say the course is in the best shape in history, and they should know!
